CIS 390 - Capstone I Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 Credit Hours: 3
Provides a rigorous research and development experience in computer science emphasizing critical thinking, creative thinking, and software and systems engineering. The course covers the lifecycle of an enterprise-scale computing-enabled project. Emphases are on the phases from requirement analysis to system design. The cadets under supervision of CIS faculty develop a comprehensive technical project proposal. Including a comprehensive literature review. The final report and presentation form the basis for completing the implementation, evaluation, and demonstration of a working system prototype in CIS 490 capstone experience. Prerequisite(s): 36 credit hours in the major; CIS 312W with a minimum grade of C, and at least one CIS major elective at the 300 level or above.
