ED 200 - Foundations of Education

The course is designed not only for cadets thinking about being a teacher, but it will also serve all cadets as future taxpayers, parents, community members, and citizens who need to have a strong and informed understanding of our education system. Foundational information will include the historical, social, economic, and political goals, the philosophies, and models of American education. Cadets will also explore the sides of current issues such as equality of opportunity, merit pay, state versus federal control, and school choice. Corequisite(s): ED 201
