NS 205 - Navigation

Navy option. During this course students will develop practical skills in naval piloting procedures using charts, visual and electronic aids, and theory and operation of magnetic and gyro compasses, as well as inland and international rules of the nautical road. It will provide a broad overview of the celestial coordinate system, including spherical trigonometry and how celestial information can be applied to navigation at sea as well as basic principles of environmental factors affecting naval operations.
