BI 102* - Introductory Biology II Instructor: Dr. Eileen Hinks Location: Maury Brooke Hall 310 Date/Time: 7:30 a.m. with lab from 2:40 to 5:40 Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Credit Hours: 4
The primary goal of this course is to present basic biological concepts in the context of human biology thus providing the student with a basis for understanding how their bodies work. Concepts of biology will be explored as they pertain to human circumstances, including relevant ethical debates and current events. This is a continuation of BI 101 . Lecture material will cover several systems of the human body including cell division and gamete formation, introductory genetics, and evolution. Laboratory topics will include activities that reinforce lecture material as well as a project where students will develop and participate in bioethical debates. This course in conjunction with BI 101 satisfies the Core Curriculum Science Requirement.
