An introduction to issues related to the increasingly global nature of the economy and how globalization impacts countries economically, politically, and culturally. Topics may include: the economic impacts of trade liberalization, foreign direct investment, and global financial investment; the impact of trade on non-economic concerns such as social issues, the environment or politics; and the roles of international institutions such as World Bank, International Monetary Fund, and World Trade Organization.
