CH 488 - Industrial Size Chemical Processes

Lecture Hours: 1
Lab Hours: 0
Credit Hours: 1

This one‑credit course examines the responsibilities professionals carry as members of society. We will explore the foundational elements of chemical process engineering and evaluate one or two industrial‑scale processes. Our goal is to consider whether these processes support a profitable business model, operate within legal and regulatory boundaries, and ultimately provide value to society. Along the way, we will challenge ourselves to recognize the ethical and professional obligations that accompany our work. Whether we pursue careers as chemists, engineers, environmental scientists, or business analysts, we all share the responsibility of navigating life as conscientious citizens of our planet. Note: Open to all 1st and 2nd classmen.
