HI 354M - Jacksonian America Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 Credit Hours: 3
This methodologically intensive course examines the history of the United States from the War of 1812 to the mid-1840s. Topics will include the expansion of the United States in an age of global revolutions as well as the rise of populism as embodied in the life and careers of Andrew Jackson. Historical and historiographical issues will be covered via analysis of popular beliefs and prejudices. Cadets’ primary goal will be to progress through the stages of structuring and writing a research essay. Region: United States. Prerequisite(s): HI majors must complete HI 201 W or HI 202 W with a minimum grade of C. Non-HI majors require permission of instructor. Methodologically Intensive Course
