ERH 211 - Comparative Religion

What is religion and why does it exist? To answer these questions we will survey the major religious traditions of the world and the philosophical traditions associated with them. We will also consider various theories about what religion is, and look at connections between religion and culture. The course focuses especially on the religious traditions of India and China, and on the religions of Christianity and Islam.  Prerequisite(s): ERH 102  with a minimum grade of C.
