CH 485 - Heterocycles Lecture Hours: 1 Lab Hours: 0 Credit Hours: 1
This course explores the chemistry of heterocycles. Heterocycles are a major class of cyclic organic compounds. They are ringed structures where some of the atoms in the rings contain at least two different elements; the most common example is carbon, along with nitrogen, oxygen, and/or sulfur. The objectives of this course are to understand the chemical and physical properties of heterocyclic compounds including some synthesis and reactions. Prerequisite(s): CH 224
