EC 314W - The Economics of Poverty and Human Capability Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 Credit Hours: 3
The objective of this course is to use economic reasoning and analysis to understand and evaluate solutions that enhance the human capability to deal with contemporary social issues and the role of civic engagement therein. Topics covered include issues pertaining to poverty, education, healthcare, racial and ethnic discrimination, immigration, law and order, and social security. Note: Writing Intensive Course (W). Prerequisite(s): EC 201 and EC 202 , both with a grade of C or better.
