Credit Hours: 2

Marine-option. The purpose of the Evolution of Warfare course is to provide the student with a very basic understanding of the art and concepts of warfare from the beginning of recorded history to the present day. Evolution of Warfare I explores the theory and nature of war from the classical warfare practiced by the ancient Greeks and Romans through the age of transition in the 17th century. The student will examine the interrelations of political, strategic, operational, tactical, and technical levels of war from the past, while bringing into focus the application of these same principles and concepts to the battlefields of today and the future. Note: No lab associated with this course.
