MA 331X - History of Mathematics II Lecture Hours: 3 Lab Hours: 0 Credit Hours: 3
In this course, we consider the works and lives of mathematicians in Europe and the United States. We focus on major developments during the time frame from the development of the calculus in the late 1600s to the present day. We study mathematical contributions to fields such as geometry, number theory, and calculus as well as to physics and engineering and how each culture has supported mathematical discovery. Prerequisite(s): MA 124
