A survey of the biology of microorganisms encompassing their diversity, structure, metabolism, pathogenesis, and ecology. Laboratory exercises will cover identification and manipulation of bacteria and single-celled eukaryotes. Prerequisite(s): One of the following sequences:

BI 101 and BI 102 ,

BI 105 , BI 106 , and BI 200 , or

BI 111 , BI 112 , and BI 113 .
